Journaling is an excellent discipline!

The practice of writing your prayer out has proven to be helpful to many. It keeps you focus in your prayers and gives you the ability to go back and review what your prayer concerns were at curtain junctions in your life. While you reflect back your faith will be strengthen when you realize that God answered a lot more prayers then you remembered.

Below you will find a form in Microsoft Excel format that you can use to document your prayers if you so desire. It includes an area where you can write in how you was doing at the time of the prayer... Emotionally, spiritually, physically etc... I would put these in a form of a gauge with a needle pointing in the direction that reflects how high and low these were at the time of the journeling. The first letter is placed in the center of the gauge to represent the catagory: Emotionally, Spiritually, Physically etc...

My wife and I used this method a lot in the past and found it to be quite helpful relationally. We would after a period of time (1-2 weeks) hand our journals to each other so that we will know each other at a deeper level. It brought further communication when the prayers focused on matters that the other person was not aware of etc...  The person can then decided to pray for your needs or attempt to assist you if within their power to do so.
